When we disagree with someone in this country, could we please stop saying, “Well, if you don’t like it [the situation as it stands], then you should leave [leave town, leave the state, leave the country].”

People, this country was formed on freedom and disagreement, which means we have the freedom to disagree.

Telling people to leave is childish and is a way of attempting to have life exactly as one wants it, without any discomfort. Sorry to bust buttons here, but nobody gets life-to-order. And we’d likely be bored if we got it.

Instead of telling people to leave, why not listen to what they have to say, without emotion, if possible, and come to some sort of compromise?
