Daughter and I were sitting at the table yesterday, eating breakfast. Doggle Woggle was attempting to get his nose into Daughter’s dish. He was being so pushy that Daughter said, “Don’t make me take my earrings off.”

The statement, said in that “Oh, no you didn’t” tone, was so surprising that I laughed and asked her where she got such a line. She told me that she and her roommate jokingly say this to each other and it refers to the moment right before a girl fight when the intended opponents remove their hoop earrings so as not to get them yanked in the fight.

I now have a follow-up question for Daughter. How many girl fights have you witnessed? (I’m hoping they’ve all been on TV.)
