This book reminds me of Hubby and Young Son. Both are genuinely brilliant thinkers, but have a preference for thinking while doing, for engaging in tasks that many would classify as blue-collar.
I appreciated the author’s plain talk in discussing the philosophical issues surrounding knowledge work versus mechanical or trade-based work. Crawford’s experiences with both types of work serves to show that there are people who can bridge these venues, bringing insights from one to the other.
