computer, frustration at computer problems, installing computer drivers, reinstalling operating system
Can I just say that it’s a pain in the backside (and shoulders and head and neck) to reinstall an old computer’s operating system and drivers? The frustration over not knowing what I’m doing is enough to make my head explode. All of this so I can have a computer that operates faster.
I have to thank the technician from CTC for helping me get connected to the internet via Ethernet cable. At least I’ve gotten that far successfully. Still having trouble hooking up wirelessly, though. Gotta figure out what driver to install. Apparently it wasn’t the wireless driver listed on my driver reinstallation CD. Grr. Looking online for solutions.
Man, computers are fussy beasts. Wish me luck. It looks like this is going to take all evening.
OMG!!!! Utter ELATION! I just got connected to the internet wirelessly after downloading the appropriate driver. Wooooooot!
This will make life easier as I install programs. Now I won’t have to sit on the floor in order to reach the modem.
Hahahaha! I understand Mary. But being the family “Computer guy”, I have been through this like a million times!
What you have done is just 25% of setting up my PC though. Installing all the other software is a pain!
Manoj – I know what you mean about installing software. It just takes so much time waiting … waiting … waiting. The good thing about reinstalling the operating system is that it forces you to decide which software you really need and which seemed like a good idea at the time but is merely just taking up disk space.
