Took a two-hour nap this afternoon. Woke to a post-nap Twilight Zone.
You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? That strange feeling when you wake that the house is no longer familiar, that the occupants have shifted places in unexplained ways. A radio is on in the distance, but not the TV. The bathroom has magically been cleaned. Furniture in the basement has been moved. Someone is talking on a phone nearby. The kitchen is gleaming and the dishes are done. Dusk is arriving and the dog needs to be walked.**
It’s the Uncanny Valley of reality, where reality is off just a smidge so it’s not quite recognizable.
Has this ever happened to you after a nap?
**These events are not dramatizations.
Yes, I know exactly – that’s just like it is. Great description.
Happy New year, Mary! It’s past midnight here.
Sometimes, and it does feel wierd, but your post also reminds me of Capgras Syndrome, that in which one thinks those closest to them are not really them anymore.
Happy New Year!
☼ …The Surreal & Magical Realism is part of our daily lives, if we but take the time to Perceive Them, and give Them A Nod of Acknowledgment of their Existence? Doncha Think? …or, Doncha ….THINK?!

► Secondary Note ………..with Any Luck, our loved ones aren’t Exactly what we previously Perceived them to be, as we compartmentalize them, and make them Fit into Our neat little Boxes? ….Always Think outside the Box, and Question Everything! It Engenders a Complex, although sometimes Confusing “Brave New World”, where WE also are Not Locked into our Preconceived notions of Ourselves & Others?! ♫
