Come on in. Grab a cup of your favorite tea and sit down for a read (and a chat, if you prefer). I left off on my other blog, Filter & Splice, grousing about coming up with a name for a new blog over here on WordPress. As you can see, I’ve found a name. After mulling this over all day yesterday (and getting a mere couple of hundred words written on my final Greenville story), I went to my writers group with this little problem. I explained what I was looking for in a name and everyone started brainstorming. One of the writers said, “Geez, you’ve been coming to writers group all this time and we hardly know anything about you.” That’s me, the enigma – only I don’t feel like an enigma. I feel like an open book.

A bunch of suggestions were tossed about, including: Mary Matters, Written Graffiti, Malice Beans, To the Mth Degree, For the Love of Blog, I’m Warner You, Thought Dump, Cyber Tangents, and Better Living on Glue. We laughed and laughed over the last suggestion. I have several pages in a notebook filled with my name suggestions, including: mewzba, mewbird, trarybird, mewponders, moxiemew, mewberry, mewmewmew, and mewstories (as you can see, I was a little stuck on my initials). I moved out of the initial phase while cooking supper and came up with cocofinch, chickleberrycrunch, snickleberrysnozz, and maryeatsworms. I was getting pretty hungry. All of this, plus the suggestions of the writers, was rolling around my head when I got home from the meeting. There was one other comment made by a group member, something about me being attracted to the “woo woo” in life. As I cleaned out the glass cabinet that holds four teacups that have been passed down from my grandmother, the thought dawned – of course! The Woo Woo Teacup Journal. What else could it possibly be? I haven’t been able to shake the name since. This evening, after work, I floated it by my writer friend who wasn’t able to attend last night’s meeting. She loved it. She said she loved Filter & Splice, too, but once I said this, she thought it was even more me.

So, there you have it. Welcome to The Woo Woo Teacup Journal. You can call it Woo Woo Teacup for short.
